Bernice E. Krug, age 88, of Chilton, died on Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Chilton Care Center in Chilton. She was born December 6, 1923 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Arno & Lillie (Dennerlein) Hahn. During WWII, Bernice worked in Kohler for the war effort, and later at the Tea House in Greenbush. She married Wallace "Wally" Krug, on November 10, 1945 in Johnsonville. Following their marriage, the couple farmed together in Greenbush until 1957 when they moved to the Harrison area. Bernice made excellent burgers and delicious pies at her restaurant, "Wally's Lunch", which was located with Wally's Sales & Service until shutting down her grill in 1971. Bernice & Wally then operated the King Coin Laundromat until retiring in the early 90's. Wally preceded her in death in August of 1993. In her free time, Bernice worked on cross stitching and made many beautiful pillows. She also enjoyed painting, especially scenery with birds and kittens. Although work demanded a large amount of Bernice's time, she always had focused her loving and caring personality on her family. Above all else, Bernice's true love began with and ended with family. She is survived by her children: Warren (Crystal) Krug of Birdseye, IN, Janice (Wayne) Mueller of Hilbert, Donn (Patty) Krug of Sherwood; 6 grandchildren: Scott (Angie) Krug, Shelley (Kevin) Alspaugh, Wendy (Vince) Moore, Ryan (Karen) Mueller, Chris (Shauney) Mueller, Cindy (Kendall) Gould; step-grandchildren: Tom (Margo) Rainford, Mark Rainford, Chris (Wes) Wertel, Lisa (Tor) Anderson, Richard Witzke; 10 great-grandchildren: Jaden, Alayna, & Chase Moore, McKenzie, Logan, Zander, & Sloan Mueller, Easton Mueller, Nai-ilah, & Essex Gould; several step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother: Harvin Hahn. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2012.
