Beulah P. Griem, age 92, of Chilton, died on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Chilton Care Center in Chilton. She was born January 19, 1920 in Chilton, daughter of the late George & Adalia (Horst) Griem. She was a lifelong resident of Chilton who, from 1943 until her retirement in 1979, worked at the State Bank of Chilton. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ and was a Charter Member of the Calumet County Business & Professional Women. Beulah had served on the Calumet Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, and became a member of the hospital auxiliary. She devoted much of her life in service to her community by volunteering for the March of Dimes, Children's Service Society, and served as the treasurer of the Calumet County American Red Cross. Beulah, somehow, found more love and time to devote her time to the Salvation Army and the Campfire Girls. Her devotion to her beloved city, Chilton, and its citizens, earned her the title of Distinguished Citizen of the Year in 1979. In the free time Beulah had left, she enjoyed bowling on the State Bank Bowling Team, and took as many travels as life would allow. She truly cared about the well being of others and constantly sacrificed herself so that others would flourish; Beulah found the best in all circumstances and in all people. She was a woman who truly loved Chilton and found peace here. Survivors include her son: Robert (Sue) Griem of Fox River Grove, IL; a grandchild: Rebecca (Mark) Murphy of Fox River Grove, IL; 2 great grandchildren: Dillon & Madeline; and 2 brothers: Wallace Griem of Chilton and Lawrence Griem of Vallejo, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Charlotte Griem and a sister-in-law: Gladys Griem. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathy Rust officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
