Henrietta A. Knepfel, age 100, formerly of Chilton, died on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Michalene's Assisted Living in Ripon. She was born July 31, 1912 in Rural Hilbert, daughter of the late Joseph & Mary (Lauer) Heimerl. Henrietta married William A. Knepfel on October 3, 1933 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly the St. Augustine Parish where she had also belonged to the Christian Mothers. Henrietta also volunteered her time and served as Chairperson of the March of Dimes in Calumet County. She devoted her life to the care and well being of her family. Henrietta cared also for those around her. She would frequently share a kind word, or a helping hand to others as well; always giving of herself, she made sure to put others' needs ahead of her own. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and in her younger years, gardening. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was proud to have been called a Green Bay Packer Stock Holder. She is survived by her children: Joseph (Nancy) Knepfel of Ripon, Betty Towers of Waupun; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Marcella Lenz. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: William; a daughter: Joanne Knepfel; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
