Jeanette Sperber, age 85, of Valders, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Rennes Health Center in DePere. She was born November 16, 1926 in Kewaunee County, daughter of the late William & Mary (Herison) Theis. She married Eugene Sperber in 1947 in Maplewood and the couple began working side by side from that day forward. She spent many years living in Door County where she raised her family and later moved to the Valders area in the mid 1960's when Sperber & Krueger Lumber Company began. Moving forward, Jeanette and Eugene began Sperber Elk Farm and Sperber Forest Products. Jeanette's primary role was to keep Eugene 'in line' and perform the duties of Boss. She enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan & accompanying Eugene on hunting trips. She looked forward to traveling with her many friends and managed to visit too many places to name. She also traveled with Elk and Buffalo Associations out of necessity to make sure that Eugene didn't buy too many animals. Survivors include her children: Sharon (Randy) Reimann of Valders, Pamela Parsons of Valders, Robert (Julie) Sperber of Green Bay; a daughter-in-law: Jane (Toby) Berkovitz of Suamico; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters: Karen Moore, Patricia (William) Eckert, Kathryn (Larry) Berkovitz, & Dianne (Rick) Gordon. Jeanette is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; an infant daughter: Mary Ella Sperber; a son: Eugene Sperber, Jr.; a son-in-law: Douglas Parsons; a brother: Robert (Valarie) Theis; and a brother-in-law: Robert Moore. Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 22, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Lincoln. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, June 22, 2012. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Jeanette Sperber.
