Jerome (Jerry) Aloysius Meyer, age 79, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

He was born on March 13, 1933 in Cato, WI, the son of the late George and Anna (Muehlbauer) Meyer.

Jerry was a 1951 graduate of Reedsville High School and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Electra from 1951 to 1955.

On November 24, 1955 he married the former LaVerne C. Wittmann at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton, WI.

Jerry was employed at the Kohler Co. as a foreman in the trucking department prior to his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish in Kiel, the Knights of Columbus, the Am Vets Post #1032 in Reedsville, the VFW in Kiel, and the Kohler Quarter Century Club. He also did volunteer work at St. Vincent DePaul and with Ss. Peter & Paul Parish as usher and altar server in Kiel, WI.

Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, playing cards especially with his children, making bluebird houses, and spending time with his family.

During Jerry's long battle with cancer, he always remained optimistic and was a true inspiration to his family. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Father Loren, the nurses at the St. Nicholas Dialysis Center, the staff at Matthew's Oncology, and the St. Nicholas Hospital Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care of Jerry.
