Karen R. Loose, age 59, of Chilton, died on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at her home. She was born November 5, 1952 in Appleton, daughter of the late Arthur & LaVerna (Hacker) Haltinner. She married Richard Loose on June 28, 1975 at Peace Church in Potter. Karen was a member of Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church in Potter, the Friends of the Library, Calumet County Master Gardeners, Chilton City Tree Board, and the Calumet County Homemakers. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, camping, and the many shopping excursions she took with her daughters. Karen had run an in-home daycare for over 30 years; she loved each and every child that was ever under her care and they were truly blessed to have been cared for by such a caring individual. Karen adored her children and devoted her life to putting their needs ahead of her own. Whether lending a helping hand, or dispensing wise and motherly advice, Karen was always there when her daughters needed her. One of the greatest blessings God had given Karen later in life was the gift of her grandbaby. Karen took every opportunity presented to spoil her with love and kindness; Karen knew that this grandchild was the greatest grandbaby in the entire world, and Ariana knew that her grandmother was the greatest woman in the entire world. Karen will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband: Richard; her 5 daughters: Amy, Pam, Peggy, Trisha & Kayla Loose; 1 grandchild: Ariana; a sister: Jane (Ken) Bolz; a brother: Lyle (Connie) Haltinner; and a sister-in-law: Fran Haltinner. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Patricia Crabtree; and a brother: Arthur Haltinner. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2012 and on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Karen's family would like to thank Toni Jo Neal and the entire staff for all of the kind and compassionate care and support that they have provided to Karen for the past 5 years. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Karen R. Loose for the Chilton Fire Department and the Chilton Lions Club.
