Patricia A. Flynn, age 75, of Chilton, died on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at the Chilton Care Center in Chilton. She was born March 17, 1935 in Chilton, daughter of the late Valeria (Schnur) King and Arno & Louise Sohrweide. She married Gordon Flaherty on November 7, 1953 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. During her life, Patricia worked as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton until she retired in January of 1999. Following her retirement, she continued to volunteer time at the hospital while working in the gift shop. She was a member of the Chilton Eagle's Auxiliary, the Calumet Medical Center Auxiliary, Red Hat Society in Chilton, and the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting ceramics, and collecting bells and spoons. She was a fantastic baker and enjoyed photographing those she loved, especially when they had food in their mouths. Patricia was a small quiet person who held her ground stoically under challenges that life offered. Although she was able to make her presence known in a big way, she was a gentle and loving grandmother who cherished moments with her grandchildren. Survivors include Louise Sohrweide; her children: Karen Wolff of Rosendale, Mary (Gary) Karls of Chilton, Pam (Buzz) Laughrin of Malone, Lisa Fesing of Gillett, Cindy Flaherty and her significant other, Greg Heagle; 14 grandchildren: Dawn (Jay) Hobbs, Christina (Douglas) Baer, Michelle (Shane) Kramarczyk, Mike (LeAnne) Karls, Jessica (Shawn) Heimann, Jennifer Karls and her special friend, Ryan, Mike (Kristie) Hostettler, Jeffrey Bouchard and his special friend, Melissa, John Laughrin and his special friend Sacsha, Jennifer (Don) Bonlander, Adam McGrew, Eric Flaherty, Damon Heagle, & Cole Flaherty; 17 great grandchildren; and her sisters: Eileen (Gene) Brantmeier, JoAnn (Bob) Franzen, Sue (Gary) Wilburn, and Mary (Bob) Eichmeier. She was preceded in death by her father: Arno Sohrweide; and a son: Gordon C. Flaherty, Jr. Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 5:45 PM on Monday, November 22, 2010.
